Can love really conquer all?—Book Six in Katy Evans’s breakout New York Times bestselling series that began with REAL. Maverick “The Avenger” Cage wants to rise to the top and become a legend in the ring. Though he keeps his identity well guarded, he’s known on the fighting circuit as the new kid with a chip on his shoulder and a tattoo on his back that marks him as trouble. He’s got a personal score to settle with the Underground’s one and only Remington “Riptide” Tate. As Mav trains, he meets a young girl—the only other new person in the town—and sparks fly. When things get heated between them, he finds out she’s none other than Reese Dumas, the cousin of Remington Tate’s wife. A girl who’s supposed to root against him and a girl he’s supposed to stay away from. But Mav fights for the woman in his heart and the monsters in his blood. The world’s eyes are on them, and the victor will go down in history as the ultimate fighting champion—the ultimate LEGEND.
This book! OMG! I seriously don’t know where to start with this review. I have so many feelings about this amazing novel that it’s hard to translate all of them. Legend is incontestably one of the best of the Real series! After Rogue and Ripped where the reader was brought outside the fighting world this book brings us back at the core of the Underground more than ever.
There’s a new fighter in town and let me say that he gives Remy’s first challenge in a very long time in the ring. Maverick “the Avenger” Cage stole my heart as much as Remy did in the previous books. While training, he catches the eyes of Reese, Brooke’s younger cousin who’s spending the summer taking care of little Racer. Their connection is instant and sincerely gave me chills all read long from the touching delicate beauty of it. They’re both searching for themselves, but while doing it they find each other and a burning passion I couldn’t help but feel to the bones.
Reese is a such a genuine heroine with a shy personality, but meeting Maverick makes her open up a little more. I liked her evolution from a girl with an intimidating unknown future to someone discovering her life ambitions and dreams. Maverick has something to prove to the fighting world and with his dedication he achieves great exploits. He’s cocky, confident, sweet, possessive and completely irresistible. I loved him so much! Remy sees something in him too, becoming his mentor and pushing Maverick to give his all. Their conflicting friendship is a highlight of this book. My Remy is so great being a big brother figure for Maverick who doesn’t completely trust his intentions with helping him.
In Legend I got my fill of Remy, Brooke and little Racer that I missed in the last two books. For me they’re the heart of this series and this book couldn’t have been better. Katy Evans outdone herself with this formidable, thrilling romance that wrap-up on a final countdown that left me breathless and in tears. Tears of joy, tears of awe, tears from all these intense feelings I got reading this spectacular series. Incontestably a must read for all readers in search of a slow burn romance with thrilling moments!
