The first time I met Jax Blackwood things went a little sideways.

In my defense, I didn’t know he was Jax Blackwood—who expects a legendary rock star to be shopping for groceries? More importantly, a blizzard was coming and he was about to grab the last carton of mint-chocolate chip.

Still, I might have walked away, but then he smugly dared me to try and take the coveted ice cream. So I kissed him. And distracted that mint-chip right out of his hands.

Okay, it was a dirty move, but desperate times and all that. Besides, I never expected he’d be my new neighbor.

An annoying neighbor who takes great pleasure in reminding me that I owe him ice cream but would happily accept more kisses as payment. An irresistible neighbor who keeps me up while playing guitar naked–spectacularly naked–in his living room.

Clearly, avoidance is key. Except nothing about Jax is easy to ignore—not the way he makes me laugh, or that his particular brand of darkness matches mine, or how one look from him melts me faster than butter under a hot sun.

Neither of us believes in love or forever. Yet we’re quickly becoming each other’s addiction. But we could be more. We could be everything.

All we have to do is trust enough to fall.

⭐️ 4 "Mint Thief" Stars ⭐️

Fall was a highly anticipated book for me after the level of love I had for the first two novels in the VIP series. Once again, Kristen Callihan delivered a beautiful romance that made my heart melt with its touch of humour and emotion!

Stella and John (aka Jax) are so cute together. From the moment they met, I was instantly entertained by their amusing and flirty banters. You clearly feel the chemistry they share. They are so lovely and made me laugh a lot throughout the book. More than the humoristic side, there’s also deeper subjects treated between the pages of this novel. John suffers from depression and anxiety and the way it’s brought to the story is really touching and real. It is eye-opening about this illness more than present in our society. It also shows an unknown side of this hero. Behind his rockstar persona known to the public, you see the human who battles demons.

I enjoyed the slow burn and the development of Stella and John’s romance, but at a certain point I felt it was at a standstill. I The story could have been a little shorter and it would have kept my attention better. Every single time the guys of the band were interacting together, I was laughing and grinning so much! These rockers are certainly a funny group and they feel more like brothers than friends with the way they help each others with their difficulties.

Fall is assuredly a beautiful addition to the VIP series. I’m now impatient to know who will be the next band member of Kill John to find love!
