What a beautiful story I've just finished. I've been waiting to read Idol since the moment I've read the blurb and see the gorgeous cover and I'm pleasantly surprise by this incredible book. It's so much more than a simple rock star story. It's all about FEELINGS! Loneliness, friendship, understanding, connection, music, soul, heartbreak and finally LOVE are all words that could explain this great book.
Two people who seems different on the outside, by their life path, but sharing a deep understanding and connection through music.
"You know what? Fuck it. Here's the truth: I wasn't happy - until I met you." I literally rock back on my heels, nearly blown down by his candor. His hands fist as he takes a step closer. Killian the rock star singer of Kill John, who's in fact a simple guy overwhelm by fame and Libby the simple small town girl who's afraid to dream big. While their meeting is least than pleasant, they soon realize that there's more than meet the eye and develop an easy friendship. They go from sarcastic, to playful, to sexy hot! It's really the better part of this book, the CONNECTION.
It's not your typical rock star book; it doesn't focus on the stardom. It's really about the EMOTIONS. I loved the slow building chemistry of the main characters turning into something more. Both of them denying their feelings, afraid to make the move, but undeniably attracted. Killian and Libby are two great characters, trying to be the bigger man for each other, PURE LOVE!
While I loved this book, there were some parts a little long and redundant in my opinion. It's the reason I can't rate it a five stars read, but I still highly recommend it! Go grab it!!
