Review: Venom & Ecstasy (Venom #2) by S. Williams
TITLE: Venom & Ecstasy
SERIES: Venom #2 AUTHOR: Shanora Williams writing as S. Williams GENRE: Dark Romance RELEASE DATE: February 16th, 2017
I am much more than meets the eye. I am stronger, smarter, and I won’t stop until I’m on top. He thinks he’s safe around me. He’s a fool to believe so. What would I do if the most wanted man in the world wanted me? The answer is simple. Get rid of him before he dares get rid of me.
After reading Passion & Venom I was literally obsessed with this series and its intricate characters. I was eagerly waiting to discover more about Draco’s puzzling past and the reasons behind his vicious attitude. Venom & Ecstasy couldn’t release soon enough for me, and when my copy landed on my kindle I needed to read it ASAP.
El Jefe and Gianna came back stronger than ever in this darker sequel. I loved their ardent chemistry that was still intensely hot! Gianna wants to take revenge on Draco by playing and manipulating him, but soon some shocking revelations are brought to her that make her questions her cunning intentions. It changes things completely!
Draco opens up a little more and shows a little side of humanity and let’s just say that some of his past is absolutely terrible. I couldn’t help, but feel for this ruthless man that decided to keep his heart under lock to preserve future disturbing events and protect his family. Some glimpses of emotion manage to show from time to time, where we can see that he’s not all evil. One thing is evident, he cares about Gia and doesn’t shy away from the fact that he wants to make her his queen.
This story was everything I was waiting for, with new threats and secrets, revelations and an ever present passionate vibe to all this gloom. I love Draco more than ever and his unflinching loyalty to Gia even after her betrayals shows his true self underneath the callousness. Behind his cold front is a caring man that rarely shows. He hides his weaknesses because with his high position in the drug world, rivals are just waiting to take his place as cartel lord.
Once again we’re left on a cliffhanger when the story was so powerful and thrilling. S. Williams outdid herself with this adrenaline-charged follow-up I couldn’t put down. Now I’m just so eager for the conclusion and I think that with all the new stuff revealed, the ending of the Venom trilogy will be another complete success.
