TITLE: Indigo Ridge

SERIES: The Edens #1 AUTHOR: Devney Perry

GENRE: Contemporary Romance

TROPES: Fling / Small Town / Romantic Suspense RELEASE DATE: October 21st, 2021

Winslow Covington believes in life, liberty and the letter of the law. As Quincy, Montana’s new chief of police, she’s determined to prove herself to the community and show them she didn’t earn her position because her grandfather is the mayor.

According to her pops, all she has to do is earn favor with the Edens. But winning over the town’s founding family might have been easier if not for her one-night stand with their oldest son. In her defense, it was her first night in town and she didn’t realize that the rugged and charming man who wooed her into bed was Quincy royalty.

Sleeping with Griffin Eden was a huge mistake, one she’s trying to forget. He’s insufferable, arrogant and keeps reminding everyone that she’s an outsider. Winslow does her best to avoid Griffin, but when a woman is found dead on Eden property, the two of them have no choice but to cross paths.

As clues to the murderer lead to one of Quincy’s own, Griffin realizes Winslow is more than he gave her credit for. Beautiful and intelligent, she proves hard to resist. For him. And the killer.

⭐️ 5 Stars ⭐️

Indigo Ridge was such a fantastic small town romantic suspense! It started The Edens Series in a strong way! Winny and Griffin's story was addicting! Devney Perry created interesting protagonists and a charming new small town to get obsessed with. The intrigue was hooking!

One of the fact I enjoyed the most about this novel is the fact Winny is the new sheriff in town. As a woman, she faces a real challenge to get the respect her position requires. She was strong and level-headed, always seeking answers about the mysterious death at Indigo Ridge. Griffin was also really alluring. Their relationship that started as a one night stand, than a fling, evolved so beautifully into a powerful love story. Their connection was wonderful!

The suspense of this story was thrilling. All read long I had theories, and let me tell you I was wrong all along. I was so surprised by the big reveal at the end.

I really can't wait for more of The Edens Series. This family shares a tight bond and I want to discover more about each of the Eden sibling.

Because after the first worst day of her life, Memphis learned a good life requires giving up on her dreams too. And a man like Knox Eden will only ever be a dream.

⭐️ 5 Stars ⭐️

Wow! Juniper Hill was an incredible addition to The Edens Series! Memphis and Knox's story was gorgeous and left me breathless. This single mom, opposites attract romance had everything to make me dream!

I was in awe of Memphis's courage and strength. The choices she made for her son were admirable and put her in an unknown situation working as a maid at the Edens owned hotel. After a rough start, the slow romance between her and Knox was just so beautiful to watch develop. He was so good with her baby boy and had me melting with his qualities. The man was a little grumpy at first, but what hid inside him was a gorgeous soul. He was so caring and thoughtful.

This story was utterly endearing! I seriously can't wait for more of the Edens!

TITLE: Garnet Flats

TROPES: Second Chance / Small Town RELEASE DATE: July 26th, 2022

Except Talia has forgotten exactly what made Foster famous. The man has dedicated his life to victory. He’s steadfast. He’s determined. And he won’t stop fighting until he’s won her heart.

⭐️ 4.5 "K.O." Stars ⭐️

Second chance romance is one of these tropes I particularly like, therefore I was ecstatic about Garnet Flats. Talia and Foster's story was one filled with heartbreak, but also redemption.

I was really curious about this couple since getting a glimpse at them in the Juniper Hill's epilogue. I was easily immersed in this novel full of feels. I enjoyed how we kept going from past to present to gradually learn more about the demise of Talia and Foster's relationship years earlier. Their past was so much more complicated than what it seemed at first. They fell in love so effortlessly and it was clear they shared a special connection. The intrigue and the reasons behind their breakup were a real suprise and made this read so intriguing.

Despite the years apart, Foster never ceased to love Talia. He broke his heart at the same time he broke hers. It was nice to see him so determined to win Talia back. In his every action, his love for her was so easy to feel. II enjoyed how Talia had a backbone and made him grovel to win back her affection. Their reunion was intense and full of hurt, but also passion and love. They were truly beautiful!

As much as I liked this novel, I felt the flow of the story was a little off, hence the reason I didn't rate it higher. I felt everything really happened in the second half of the book and the first half was dragging at times. Garnet Flats is so worth the read though for all the emotions it packs.
