TITLE: The Seasons of Callan Reed AUTHOR: S.M. Soto GENRE: Contemporary Romance
TROPES: Enemies To Lovers / Office / Second Chance
RELEASE DATE: February 2nd, 2021
After the death of her husband, Daisy Casillas is lost, desperately trying to repair the wreckage that has now become her life. In need of a job and money to stay afloat, her best friend suggests a position no one in New York is willing to take.
Callan Reed’s executive assistant.
The man is a tyrant.
Incredibly rude.
Notoriously arrogant.
Strikingly handsome.
And as fate would have it, her former childhood best friend.
Daisy promised herself she’d never speak to the man again after the destruction of their friendship years ago, but she’s desperate. Desperate enough to withstand his cold glares, to follow his impossible tasks to a T, and endure his ridiculous demands.
The hate and animosity they have for each other is real. The barbs they shoot at each other in the office are effective and all too spiteful. But Daisy is willing to risk it all, even if it means another shattered heart.
What ensues between them is a chain of events that unravels the secrets in Daisy’s already imperfect life. While struggling to rebuild everything that has crashed around her, Daisy finds herself falling into old habits with Callan. Only this time, she hopes her heart will survive the wreckage.
If there’s nothing left of the organ, there’s no heart left to break, right?

⭐️ 5+ "A-hole Extraordinaire" Stars ⭐️
The year is still so young and I already have a top favorite read in 2021! I don't know how she does it, but S.M. Soto always achieves to captivate me wholly with her novels. The Seasons of Callan Reed isn't an exception! I adored every single thing about this story packed with so much feels!
Callan is the biggest a-hole, but also irresistible! He made me rage from his jerk ways, yet swoon over his evident love for Daisy hiding under all his bad attitude. He's a complex man with multiple layers, keeping her at arms length with his hurtful actions, but being supportive when she’s in need of a little help.
Daisy is this sweet woman, a little naive at times. She made disputable choices through the years that led her to be Callan’s new assistant. She’s always had a fondness for the man, but he’s definitely not the guy from her youth, her former best friend. I lived for the moments where she goes head to head with her boss and doesn’t bend to his will despite his cruel treatments. They’re extremely explosive together with all the push and pull that gave me whiplash. I was only waiting for them to explore this sexual energy they oozes and succumb to the temptation.
"𝑰 𝒆𝒏𝒋𝒐𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒐𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝑪𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒏 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆. 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒖𝒔, 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒆 𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒔, 𝒚𝒊𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒚𝒂𝒏𝒈."
The story includes chapters set in the the past here and there, where we learn about Daisy and Callan’s relationship over the years. So much heartache and denial between them.
S.M. Soto created one of the meanest, yet sexiest hero in Callan. Don’t let his bad behavior keep you from meeting him, because that man is so devoted once his heart starts to thaw. His evolution is quite stunning and dreamy. From hard and cold to sweet and caring, Callan is an experience to watch.
The Seasons of Callan Reed is a work of art that delivers all the angst and passion, but also heartbreak and love! This masterpiece of a story is gorgeously written and touched me deeply! Give a chance to this compelling enemies to lovers, office romance!
