GENRE: Contemporary Romance
TROPES: Fling / Small Town
RELEASE DATE: September 27th, 2022
Benson Bexley has always had a heart of stone.
Apparently nothing has changed.
When he returns home after a decade gone, I recognize him right away.
How could I forget him?
He’s the same cocky flirt who slid dirty poetry to me in art class.
With the same stone-cold stare that shielded his soul from the world.
And that same sharp-edged jaw that cut straight through my heart like a dagger.
Fortunately, this time I see right through his arrogant charm.
Even better, he doesn’t remember who I am.
I have no intention of reminding him.
After all, it’s only a matter of time until his nomadic lifestyle takes him away again.
When his poetic charm strikes once more, I play along.
Maybe it's time he got a taste of his own medicine.
Revenge.
It’s not in my nature.
But Benson Bexley deserves nothing less.
It’s time for that heart of stone to shatter.
⭐️ 5 "Teach" Stars ⭐️
K.K. Allen is one of these select authors that I never get enough of reading. She always achieves to perfectly balance romance, feelings and sexiness in her books. Heart of Stone, the third standalone novel in her Camp Bexley Series, had all of these characteristics that made my read so enjoyable.
Benson was a complex hero that I loved discovering through the pages of this story. He was cocky and charming, but under this carefree attitude was hiding a broken guy scared of feeling. He was still hurting so much from the loss of his twin brother ten years earlier, detaching himself from everything and everyone. I enjoyed how meeting Brooklyn made him see life differently. Through her mixed media class assigments, she made him face his fears. This heroine was interesting and chasing her dreams.
Benny and Brooklyn had such a magnetic connection. I cherished every single one of their interactions. When they started their fling, the passionate encounters between them were so hot. There was fire in their exchanges, but also the beautiful build up of their romantic feelings was gorgeous to witness.
I really liked the little moments between the Bexley brothers. Anderson, Jamison and Cayson made this novel so complete. They were so supportive and trying to help heal Benson. I truly loved this group of protagonists so much. These men and their ladies are great people.
Heart of Stone was another little gem from K.K. Allen! This novel stole my heart wholly! And now, I really need Cayson's story!
