⭐️ 4 "Solstice" Stars ⭐️
I hadn’t ventured in the fantasy genre in a very long while, but I’ll read anything K.K. Allen writes, so I entered the Enchanted Gods Series with lots of excitement. Cursed was an interesting novel and only the beginning of a very bewitching world! With a mythology inspired setting, this story was fascinating!
When Katerina is sent to live with her estranged grandmother, she slowly learns long kept secrets about her family. Her ancestors entrusted remarkable powers to their lineage and events that always made her an outsider in her previous life, now all makes sense. Situations where she could strangely control the elements surrounding her are now explainable. She cautiously discovers a fantastic world in Apollo Beach. She feels the animosity from certain people in this town, but she rapidly forges a friendship with Alec. The guy is truly sweet and charming. I found those two really cute even if the romance was very low for me, avid romance reader. I still felt their beautiful connection that only promises a special bond for the subsequent novels.
The progression of the story was a little too slow in my opinion, but I couldn’t stop reading only wanting to understand Kat’s mythical heritage. Now that we learned more about what’s expected from the girl, I’m really eager for the future books in this series!
