It’s been a week since I finished Chasing the Moon and I’m finally ready to give you my thoughts on this marvelous novel. This story is honestly brilliant! I was utterly enthralled by this second chance romance with its enchanting small town vibe! I couldn't stop reading, because I was so seduced by Selene and Endymion's love story! This novel is hands down one of my absolute favorite of the year!
Every aspect of this story had me intrigued and my huge expectations were totally eclipsed! This masterpiece of a book is an outstanding experience! S.M. Soto has this ability with words and shaping incredible stories. She certainly had me bewitched by the atmosphere this book oozes. There’s just something magical about this small town, second chance romance with angst of unrequited feelings!
Selene and Endymion’s relationship is lovely and their deep connection had me enamored from the start. From their first meeting when she’s only a pre-teen through all her teenage years waiting for the older guy to finally see her, she loves him in silence! I appreciated that the first chapters are set in the past as it helped me grasp their special magnetism! After years away, Selene is back in town and her wish is coming true; End finally sees her. But that dream has be crushed years ago and it’s not easy to embark on a romance after the previous heartbreak and big secret she’s hiding.
Endymion is the whole package and I so loved him! He’s the right mix of alpha, sweet, charming, thoughtful, sexy and everything! In his teenage years, he’s a little lost searching his place in the world and trying to be his own person. While he’s courteous to Selene in their sparse encounters, he’s somewhat detached. I admired his growth into a responsible man that had me swooning so hard over his alluring personality. His pursuit of Selene’s heart is magnificent and gave me a swarm of butterflies in the stomach! He sees her true beauty and kindness and their pull is more than ever intense. The way he effortlessly forges a profound link with Luna is also to die for! They’re just the sweetest!
Luna is such a cutie and her sass had me grinning and laughing so much! She definitely brings a lightness and fresh air to this story. Every single instant with the little lady had my heart brimming with happy feelings.
Selene is really beautiful inside and out. She’s quiet and isn’t aware of her natural beauty! She’s genuine, but it doesn’t make her perfect and it’s only proved by her biggest mistake. Selene’s obsession with the moon and greek mythology is amazing and gives a singular undercurrent to the story. I felt truly connected to this graceful heroine!
Selene and End are striking together! Every moment shared is charged with a mutual fierce attraction, but also so much more! It’s evident there’s a deep understanding of each other that is quite exquisite. The slow build of their romance is breathtaking, leading to highly combustible moments. I couldn’t get enough of these two as individuals and as a couple!
Chasing the Moon is so much more than a romance, treating of deeper subject matters that are so moving. It’s an utterly entrancing and affecting story that I didn’t want to let go! S.M. Soto signed here my favorite contemporary romance of hers! Give a chance to this novel and you’ll certainly be awed like me!
