I literally just finished my read of Beyond the Roses and... I'm not okay! My heart is hurting so badly, but at the same time I'm filled with happy feelings. I'm a complete mess of contradicting feelings! Monica James without a doubt in my mind signed with this novel her best contemporary romance to date!
I feel like this review should be short and sweet, because there's not a lot I want to unveil about the plot. Just from the blurb, it's clear what you're in for with this novel. I was expecting to get my heart shattered by Lola's tragic situation, but was also agreably suprised by the hope shining through the pages of this story. Her romance with Dr. Roman Archibald is truly magnificent! In their moments of despondency, they find solace and bliss into each other. I'm speechless from their gorgeous relationship that got to me deeply with their unfortunate ending getting closer.
Beyond the Roses drained me completely! After this read, my throat is so raw and my eyes burn from all the crying! This book is assuredly a top read for me in 2020! All the stars to this epic journey!
