Prince of Hearts was a good start to the Verona Legacy Series. I enjoyed the storyline that was suspenseful and interesting. The insta-love part was where I had difficulty connecting with the story as much as I wanted. Nicco and Ari are a beautiful couple, but I didn't feel the sparks between them. Nicco is a bad boy with a heart of gold. He didn’t choose the life of crime he was raised into and meeting Ari has him even more conflicted with the darkness of his world. She’s everything that’s pure. She’s a sweet, innocent heroine, a little too naive of the world of corruption she lives in. Her relationship with Nicco develops rapidly and a little too fast for my taste, nevertheless I found them really cute together. Nicco is so possessive and protective of her right away. For a mafia romance it was also somewhat light, but I guess that I love romances very dark so… These critics don't mean I didn't like the book, just that it didn't click with me on all levels. I'm definitely intrigued by what's coming next with King of Souls with that ending!
