coach me cover

TITLE: Coach Me

AUTHOR: Shanora Williams

GENRE: Forbidden Romance

RELEASE DATE: May 14th, 2020

When I met Amber Lakes, I had no idea that she’d become a shining star in my dark, miserable life. Her smile was never supposed to warm my heart, and the sight of her tears was never supposed to make me want to hunt down the person who’d caused them. We were never supposed to touch, or kiss, or do so many dirty things on campus that I knew could jeopardize my career... None of it was supposed to happen because she’s the student—my athlete—and I’m her college track coach. I could lose everything by being with her, but I’ve fallen too damn hard, and despite how big the risks are, it’s too late to turn back now.

⭐️ 4 "Coach Torres" Stars ⭐️

Coach Me is an age gap forbidden romance I couldn’t wait to get my hands on. Shanora Williams is my go-to author for his type of stories and once again she didn’t disappoint with this novel. While Amber and Joaquin’s romance is illicit and steamy, their story is so much more than just a coach and his younger athlete. Coach Me is eye-opening about the deplorable issue of racism that is still actual in the world and how it affects its victims. Amber is a dedicated athlete only wanting to be the best runner at her new university. While she’s determined to prove her talent, it’s not easy for an African American girl to make her place on the team mostly composed of white girls. I admired her maturity and the way she doesn’t bow to the mean girls and keeps her integrity. She stays true to her nature as a fighter without turning into a mean girl herself! Coach Torres is always pushing his athletes to perform at their best, sometimes being harsh and unapologetic in his ways. From their meeting, he shares a special connection with Amber. It’s more than only a physical attraction, but the same understanding of the cruelty of certain narrow-minded individuals. With his Mexican genes, he’s also in the minority on campus and learned that he needs to work harder to advance in his career and be respected. I enjoyed the evolution of their romance that was beautiful and based on something more than just sex. Both of them knows they have a lot to lose from this forbidden romance, but their feelings runs too deep to go away! I really loved their relationship so much! The intimate moments are so hot, but emotional too. This story was seriously a great little treat that is so much more than just smut. I’ll admit I felt the story wrapped up too fast though. Toward the end it was just too rushed in my opinion and it’s mostly the reason I didn’t rate the book higher. Overall, Coach Me is the perfect sports romance with nice touches of sensuality and feels. You need to meet Amber and Coach Torres!
