TITLE: Sweet Temptation AUTHOR: Cora Reilly GENRE: Arranged Marriage / Mafia Romance

RELEASE DATE: March 8th, 2020

The first time Cassio met his fiancée, she called him ‘Sir’. After losing his wife, Cassio is left to take care of two small children while trying to establish his rule over Philadelphia. Now he needs a mother for his children, and someone who can warm his bed at night. But in a traditional world as his, choosing your wife is duty not pleasure. Rules have to be followed. Traditions heeded. That’s how he ends up with a woman—a girl barely of age. She might not be what he and his children need, but she’s wicked lovely and a sweet temptation he can’t resist. Giulia always knew she’d marry a man her father chose for her. Only she never expected to be given to someone much older. Suddenly she’s supposed to be a mother to two small children when she hasn’t even held a baby in her life. Giulia quickly realizes that Cassio isn’t interested in a relationship on equal footing. Her mother always warned her that men of power like Cassio don’t tolerate insolence; yet, tired of being treated as a nanny and clueless child-bride, Giulia decides to fight for her vision of a happy family.

Cora Reilly is an author I wanted to read for a long time. I finally took the plunge with Sweet Temptation and this read was a win! This sweet mafia / arranged marriage romance gave me happy feelings. If you don’t like dark reads, don’t let the mafia aspect of this book keep you from reading this amazing story. Cora Reilly created a beautiful love story set in the mafia world that is mostly about the family life of a newly married couple. The action and violence are on the low side, but there’s a few twists here and there to keep you hooked and entertained. Cassio Moretti is known to be a very cruel and capable underboss for the famiglia. When he accepts to marry the young Giulia, let’s just say that these two clash so much. She’s sweet where he’s harsh, sassy to his controlling but definitely what he needs in his life. Yes, she’s just eighteen, but she brings light and happiness into his dark and vicious world. I loved their interactions and how the love blossomed between those two. Cassio is dominant and wants to impose his rules as her new husband, but Giulia is fearless and determined to stay true to herself and replies with her own attitude. She’s dedicated to this new marriage though and work to make it work. Their attraction is compelling and leads to scorching hot encounters, but they also forge a deeper and emotional bond. It was great to witness an intimidating man like Cassio fall hard under the charm of his new wife. I truly swooned over the adorable relationship Giulia develops with Daniele and Simona, Cassio’s children. Those scenes certainly put a smile on my face from the sheer loveliness. Loulou, the little dog of the family, only added to these warm feelings. Sweet Temptation was a very enjoyable read and certainly not my last from this author. As I previously mentioned, it was pretty tame for a mafia book, but there’s a whole lot of facets to enjoy about this novel. This heartfelt assuredly read make me want to read all of this author’s backlist novels!
