The Mafia and his Angel Part 2 was just so spectacular! I already fell in love with this universe in the previous book, but this time around I was even more consumed by this thrilling, dark and emotional journey. Ayla and Alessio’s feelings are more profound, their chemistry electrifying, but it’s also the suspense and savagery that made this read a real page-turner! The rivalry between the Russian and Italian mafias reaches a new peak that got me so nervous all read long! I couldn’t help but apprehend the huge revelation of Ayla’s biggest secret and its impact on the rest of the story! Ayla has come a long way since meeting the Ivanshov clan! With Alessio’s protective love and Maddie’s friendship, she’s now a little more open and lively. I enjoyed her interactions with the guys where she flirts and make jokes to get a rise of Alessio. That new attitude was so charming and amusing. Such a little temptress she becomes! But it’s clear that there’s only Alessio in her heart! Despite these moments of happiness, Ayla still shows signs of vulnerability, but her all around strength is radiating in every facet of her life. She faces her demons and embraces her relationship with her man. And what a man! Alessio is seriously swoon-worthy! I loved every angle of his personality: the rude and domineering mafia boss, the tender and sweet lover, the caring friend. He’s without a doubt a new favorite hero of mine! He’s just irresistible and would do anything to keep Ayla safe! Their relationship is more intimate and passionate, but still overflowing with respect! They’re just so enchanting! Don’t let me fool you with all the sweetness in this book, because there’s also a great dose of darkness too. It brought me a rush of sensations and some brutal, unexpected twists had me gasping. Alessio becomes a vicious criminal and shows his dangerous side. While it’s chilling, it’s also very attractive to see him like that! Lylah James indisputably created a highly addicting novel with The Mafia and his Angel Part 2. The last few chapters of this book had me stunned and the last book of this trilogy will be utterly heartbreaking and compelling I’m sure!
