AUTHOR: J.B. Salsbury
GENRE: Second Chance Romance
RELEASE DATE: October 7th, 2019
Sadie Slade was the love of my life.
I left for college promising her I’d be back in four years.
She stayed behind promising me she’d wait.
We both broke our promises.
When we bump into each other five years later my feelings for her come rushing to the surface.
I want her back.
She wants me gone.
How quickly my Sadie Girl has forgotten—I’ve never been the type of man who accepts defeat.
No matter the cost.
Jack Daniels was my entire life.
Until he wasn’t.
Now he’s back and thinks we should pick up where we left off.
I miss the simplicity of what we had.
I miss how easily we fit together.
Truthfully…I miss him.
But if I allow him to get too close, he’ll see I’m not the same girl he left behind five years ago.
He thinks I’m upset about our break up.
The truth is so much worse.

Jack & Sadie was a very anticipated book for me! When I first heard about its release, I was overjoyed as I’m a huge fan of the Fighting Series. This next generation story was good, but left me a little disappointed. I just expected something different I guess.
It’s a second chance story with lots of feels. Jack and Sadie have been in love their whole life but when Jack left for college, distance made their relationship crash. An impromptu meeting put them face to face again months after their breakup and they question their feelings.
Sadie lived a trauma that left her fragile about relationships, but Jack is determined to get her back. I must say that Sadie’s worries and fears were really touching. Jack has his good moments, but also his bad ones. I had difficulty with his character as I felt he was selfish most of the book. I realize his intentions are good toward Sadie, but he just doesn’t act the right way being dishonest with the girl he loves. I was disappointed in him as I felt he should have reveal his deceit much earlier in the story. I also felt the chemistry was lacking a little between this couple and couldn’t connect as much as I wanted with them. I still enjoyed the sweet moments they share!
I must admit my favorite scenes in this book are the few parts where we got to see Jonah, Raven, Blake and Layla as parents. I love these characters and they certainly bring humour!
Overall, I enjoyed Jack & Sadie but the original series is way better in my opinion. This book can be read as a complete standalone as the previous novels don’t have any impact on this one.
