It’s not a secret that the enemies to lovers trope is my weakness! There’s just something so alluring about the hot and cold attitude between a couple that hides a definite pull toward each other! Add to the mix a surprise pregnancy and you get a winner! Surprise, Baby was an amazing read from start to finish! I listened to the audiobook and I feel it only enriched my appreciation of the story with both narrators doing a fantastic job! I found myself laughing so much at Kendall and Drew’s antics! Seriously those two are so perfect for each other behind all the aversion.
Drew had a thing for the woman for a long time, but always felt he wasn’t good enough for her with his player persona! It didn’t help that he wasn’t on his best behavior when they met a few years earlier. When they’re stranded together in a snow storm, they just can’t resist the desire that’s been simmering between them for years and let go of their inhibitions to spent a weekend of pure unbridled passion! A few weeks later, the bombshell drops: a baby is coming!!!
This book is bursting with humoristic instants, but also endearing ones. Drew’s desire to win Kendall over was so charming! When he learns he’s going to be a father, he steps up to the challenge of being the responsible man. Kendall is a strong independent woman, but she’s scared of letting Drew in and getting her heart broken! He needs to work hard to make her believe that they can be a family with this little one coming soon. They slowly discover new facets of each other’s personality and grows closer.
Lex Martin and Leslie McAdam signed another amazing romance with all the happy feelings and packed with humour with Surprise, Baby!!!
