Twisted is a book I was really excited about after reading and loving the Web of Sin Trilogy. This first novel in the new Tangled Web Trilogy intrigued me from the blurb only, but I must admit that it took me a while to really enter this story. I felt it was more of a suspense book with a lot of information about the research Dr Laurel Carlson and highly focused on the romance.
I enjoyed Kader’s mysterious an protective personality. His motives to help Laurel are still unclear, but I felt his connection to her. His need to keep her safe. She’s also intrigued by the man and doesn’t know if she can trust him. He seems to be her only ally in this web of deception and intriguing events.
The last few chapters were really captivating and brought a lot of interrogations. Kader is a really interesting hero and I’m excited to discover more about him and his strange past in the next book. Laurel seems to see something familiar in him and I couldn’t help but feel they’d known each other years before.
Twisted wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, but I still found the suspense and the character developments interesting. There’s still so much to discover about the whole plot and I’m really excited for the second novel in the Tangled Web Trilogy.
