When J. Daniels made the announcement about All We Want, I was ecstatic! The Alabama Summer Series has been one of my very favorite since Where I Belong and with each new book I grow fonder of its characters. Getting more of Tessa and Luke was a total surprise as I was waiting for Jake’s story, but their journey toward parenthood needed to be written. Through the last couple books of the series, this couple’s desire to have children was mentioned and I just wanted them to see their dearest wish answered.
This book has the same sexiness and humour featured in its predecessors, but it’s also packed with emotional stuff. Tessa is still her no-filter girl that made me laugh so much, but she also shows a more fragile side of her too. Seeing her get upset about her difficulty in getting pregnant was truly poignant. She mostly shows her cheery facet, but this stressed and saddened version of her was really moving! Luke is absolutely wonderful in this book with the support he shows his wife every step of the way toward their dream! He’s always been a man of a few words, but with his actions he demonstrates his unwavering love for Tessa. Seriously, he’s swoon-worthy! He also struggles with their problems in becoming parents and I loved seeing him more open about his feelings!
It was a pleasure to see all my favorite characters together, helping this couple in these stressful moments. This group of friends is truly amazing and I just can never get enough of them all! The bond they all share is something special!
All We Want is deeply touching novel I enjoyed immensely. It was everything I wanted and more, presenting a couple so strong and tight in their difficulties! All fans of the Alabama Summer Series need to read this newest installment!
