Audiobook Review | Ryan's Bed by Tijan --> 4 Stars
AUTHOR: Tijan
GENRE: YA
RELEASE DATE: January 22nd, 2018
I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident. I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed—her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should've left... I didn’t. I didn’t jump out. I didn’t get embarrassed. I relaxed. And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved. I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept. The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could've stayed forever, I would have. He became my sanctuary. Because—four hours earlier—my twin sister killed herself.
⭐️ 4 "Healing" Stars ⭐️ Ryan’s Bed was my first Tijan read and I’m really pleased with it. I’m not usually a reader of YA, or at least not very often. This book though was so moving. Tijan wrote about a difficult subject in such a beautiful emotional way. Mackenzie’s path to recovery after her twin’s suicide was full of feels. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator completely captured the torment and agony lived by Mackenzie about going on without her other half. Grief is a draining process, but her twin Willow was a part of her. She struggles with this important lost, but also the abandonment of her family also destroyed by the event. Her only real support in these hard times is Ryan! How I love Ryan and his beautiful heart. He’s so caring and only wants the best for Mackenzie. He stands up for her and he’s a dreamy hero for sure. Ryan’s Bed gave me chills, made me cry, made me laugh! I truly enjoyed this stirring novel from Tijan and look forward to read more of her work.
