Getting Schooled was absolutely fantastic. It was my very first Emma Chase’s book and OMG what an introduction it was! I can’t believe I hadn’t experience any of her novels before!
I loved everything about this heartfelt story! Most of all, Garrett!!! Seriously, that man is swoon-worthy! The narrator did a tremendous job in conveying all the feelings of this hero and I was amazed! OMG, that voice!!! So perfect and fitting for Garrett! This hero is confident, but also funny and sweet. I loved how much you feel his love for Callie every single time she’s mentioned. She’s the one that got away, but now she’s back in town for a whole year!
Callie has always been driven and determined to make it big in the theater world. Being back in her home town to take care of her injured parents while they recover and finding a job as a drama teacher isn’t exactly in her plans. But she goes with it and slowly reconnects with Garrett, her first love!
This second chance romance is a punch of sensations with all the emotions it delivers perfectly dosed with the humor and sexy moments. The slow way Callie and Garrett re-enter a romantic relationship is absolutely breathtaking and beautiful! They had time through their years apart to learn about life and finally be ready to be together.
Getting Schooled sends important life lessons. I enjoyed the schoolings Callie and Garrett learned from their experiences and admired the way they also teach those lessons to their students. Some of those speeches are really deep and sounded so true to me! Their years of separation definitely make them learn some hard lessons and prepare them for their HEA!
Emma Chase is an author I really need to experience again! I loved, loved, loved everything about this phenomenal story.
