This second installment in the Mount Trilogy is truly sensational and that ending… shocking! I devoured every single word of Defiant Queen passionately and they vibrated inside me.

I was so pleased when I realized that most of this sequel was written in Lachlan’s point of view. I wanted to enter his mind and discover more about this callous man and I was agreeably served on that level. He peels his multiple layers and bares himself to show the man at the core of his being. He’s not as heartless as he likes to display; the past forged the man he is and he just protected himself from further heartbreak across the years. But who’s better than the sexy, sometimes infuriating Keira to make his heart melt?

She shows her rebellious side again and I esteemed so much her strong attitude. Mount is the most feared man in town, but she’s not afraid to go head to head with him. I adored seeing Keira’s different facets and showing her vulnerability toward Mount. Her body is betraying her when she’s with him, but she slowly discovers new attractive sides of him that makes her reassess her feelings for him.

This time, the romance is definitely more present, but we still get all the raging kinky moments these two enjoy indulging in. With two characters as searing as them, the atmosphere is always charged with attraction and sensuality.

I’m addicted to this obscure erotic world and its alluring characters. I can’t get enough of Keira and Mount! This series is undoubtedly my favorite Meghan March’s work to date! She created the perfect blend of hot, sinful, suspenseful, dark, intriguing, captivating and romantic. The next few weeks will certainly be torture while I wait for Sinful Empire!
