We fell in love on a beach, got married in paradise, and I carried her off into the sunset. It should have been perfect, but saying “I do” doesn’t guarantee a happily-ever-after. Two years later, I barely recognize either of us behind the walls we’ve built. It’s time to bring it full circle. Back to a tropical paradise. Back to find out if we can still make this work. I’m not willing to give her up, but to save us, I have to risk everything. Two damaged people. Countless secrets. The fight of our lives. We might be broken, but we’re not done.

Take Me Back was an incredible read and so much more than what I was expecting. From the first pages I could feel already the deep emotive tone of the book. But then suddenly, the book did a complete turn and suspense had me gripping my ipad as I was immersed in this story.
Kat and Dane are “celebrating” their two-year anniversary or more like trying to salvage their marriage. It’s clear from the start that both of them still harbor deep feelings for each other and want to find their way back to each other. Going on a tropical island is the perfect setup for them to reignite the flame into their crumbling union, but long buried secrets from both of them make everything more difficult. Secrets are finally unfolding and suddenly it’s a race against time to make their marriage live on because there’s other threats planning over them.
I really liked the intrigue behind all this chaos between Kat and Dane. I was constantly trying to figure out the secrets they kept from each other. The connection between them was tangible and their desire to make things right never wavering. I loved how the book was going back and forth between present and past to help me understand their dynamic better.
A beautiful mix of emotion blended with suspense and intensity made Take Me Back a pleasantly addictive surprise for me.
