Review: Broken Prince (The Royals #2) by Erin Watt
TITLE: Broken Prince
SERIES: The Royals #2 AUTHOR: Erin Watt GENRE: YA Romance RELEASE DATE: July 25th, 2016
These Royals will ruin you… From wharf fights and school brawls to crumbling lives inside glittery mansions, one guy tries to save himself. Reed Royal has it all—looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life. What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father’s new ward suffer turned into something else entirely—keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed’s arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed’s entire world begins to fall apart around him. Ella doesn’t want him anymore. She says they’ll only destroy each other. She might be right. Secrets. Betrayal. Enemies. It’s like nothing Reed has ever dealt with before, and if he’s going to win back his princess, he’ll need to prove himself Royally worthy.
Just wow! This series continues to blow my mind. After the big reveal at the end of Paper Princess, another bomb falls in your lap right when you start Broken Prince. And it doesn’t stop there! Oh no! There’s a lot of events happening that kept me so entertained and waiting for the next jaw dropper.
In this second book, Ella is so badass. After Reed lost her trust, she’s struggling with her feelings for him. In fact, all the Royal family is in disarray. The brothers don’t talk to each other; they keep secrets. It seems Ella is the one keeping them somewhat glued together after her return. Reed must grovel at her feet to show her that his feelings for her were always real and it’s not a game. He really demonstrates a caring side of him with his protectiveness and devotion. Easton is in a darker phase coping with his addictions, but there’s always a glimpse of his funny side showing. Drama his high at the Royal mansion with Brooke, but also Dinah. Are they plotting together? What is happening? I need answers.
Let’s just say that there’s so much happening in this novel from everywhere. Drama at school: check. Drama at home: check. Another story full of manipulation, blackmail and mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat. One again, I’m left completely astonished with these huge revelations unveiled.
From the beginning, the Royals has been a maelstrom of emotions. I can’t wait to see what Erin Watt has in store for the conclusion of this epic series.
