With this novel, K. Webster once again achieved to blow my mind. That book, WOW! It was a pure masterpiece brimming with emotions. I can’t say enough about how much I LOVED it! The characters were very well developed and their pain, heartbreak, sadness and whirlwind of other feelings were mine too. It’s what this author does; she manages to make you feel EVERYTHING! I can’t really enter into details about the plot of the story because it will ruin its magic.
Adrian, what can I say about this broken man? He was the perfect tortured hero I love reading about. He’s still living in the past, in shame and guiltiness. He’s hiding behind a hard and cold facade, but beneath it he’s only a fragile man consumed by grief. An act of kindness captures his attention, and the clumsy and outspoken Bernice “Neesy” Noble enters his life. Her vibrant personality is a balm on his scarred heart. Slowly he opens up to her but his past is always near, leaving him acting hot and cold toward her. Neesy is a great heroine who completely understand Adrian’s pain and wants to help him heal. I appreciated the scenes where I could see an Adrian crumbling from an overflow of contradicting emotions. He was so REAL, I could really FEEL is pain and just wanted to hug him! Together, this flawed couple was bursting with passion. Acting on their attraction wasn’t a question of “if” but “when”. The bedroom scenes were HOT, HOT, HOT! Together, they made their own little paradise of bliss, forgetting everything around them for short moments.
Like I previously said, this book is all about EMOTIONS. I can’t remember how many times I needed to stop my read, a crying mess from all the emotional stuff happening. All the tribulations between this couple and Neesy never letting go of Adrian was a real example of LOVE. Neesy was strong for the both of them, fighting for her tormented man. She demonstrated on multiple occasions her strength by supporting Adrian despite his outbursts. Her candidness and good-hearted personality was the perfect match for this man.
Definitely on my top reads of 2016. K. Webster completely amazed me with this novel. If you still haven’t read one of her book, you’re missing a lot! Untimely You will assuredly break your heart and mend it, all at the same time!
