Expect the unexpected. That's what they say, but it's easier said than done. How do you expect a change so huge it rocks you to your core? How do you prepare yourself for an event that will alter your life forever? One breath One second One minute One hour One day at a time, you learn to live with your unexpected reality.

I can’t express enough how I loved this book! I can easily say that’s my favorite novel by Kaylee Ryan. She truly achieved to capture my attention with this sweet romance.

Ridge is a young man enjoying life, but he unexpectedly finds himself in a new situation being a single dad. Knox not only brought unexpected in Ridge life, but happiness and love! Ridge really embraced his new life thoroughly in spite of it being drastically changed! We see him being so attentive to his new son and insecure with doubts about his parenting skills and it’s endearing. All the scenes between these two were cuteness at its best. I couldn’t help but have a smile plaster on my face constantly. I alternated between smiles and tears from the sweetest scenes between this sexy man and his baby boy. I loved seeing him interact with Knox, SO MUCH!
Soon after the birth of Knox, he meets Kendall. She was a friend of his sister in high school and now is a nurse working with Knox's doctor. After years without seeing her, Ridge is instantly interested in her, but both of them have concerns about a future romance between them. Ridge wants someone who will accepts him and his son, and Kendall thinks Ridge is mourning Knox’s mom, preventing them from pursuing something more. The transition from a friendship to lover relationship they had was effortless and perfectly written. It was so beautiful seeing Kendall fall in love with Ridge AND Knox. She was a natural with little Knox, and it helped won Ridge’s heart.

The depth of their feelings and emotions greatly translated through the pages. It was a wonderful heartwarming read. I highly recommend it for its intoxicating sweetness!
