She’s spent years trying to forget that night even while wondering about the identities of the monsters who brutalized her—until a telltale tattoo flashes across Sela’s TV screen. The incriminating ink belongs to Jonathon Townsend, the millionaire founder of The Sugar Bowl, a website that matches rich older men with impressionable young women. Obsessed with revenge, Sela infiltrates Townsend’s world, only to come face-to-face with a tantalizing complication: Beckett North, his charismatic business partner. The tech mastermind behind The Sugar Bowl, Beck always gets what he wants, in business and in bed. And yet, for a man who’s done every dirty thing imaginable, there’s something about the naïve, fresh-faced Sela that sparks his hottest fantasies. Because with her, it’s not just about sex. Beck opens up to her in ways he never has with other girls. So why does he get the feeling that she’s hiding something? In a world of pleasure and power, the shocking truth could turn them against each other—or bind them forever. Not with him sleeping down the hall…
Wow Sugar Daddy was an incredible read. It was addicting with an explosion of sizzling chemistry, suspense and secrets with a touch of sweetness. What a great start to a new trilogy by Sawyer Bennett!
"I want to crawl inside of you, Sela, and feel every inch of you against me. I don't want any barriers and I don't want any fucking walls between us. Just you and me, touching... you melding into me, me into you."
After a traumatizing night when she was sixteen where she was drugged and raped, Sela Halstead is broken. She's been closed off since then, mostly concentrating on her studies and having no real emotional attachment with others. She has sex, but that's all; no connections, just a sense of worth to be desire.
Now ten years after the terrible incident, she sees a tattoo identical to the one her rapists had, on a man on T.V.. He's the rich co-founder of the popular Sugar Bowl website, Jonathon Townsend, also known as JT. Being haunted from that night and not being able to move on she's really living an empty existence, and this discovery starts a plan for revenge.
She decides to infiltrate his life by becoming a sugar baby to discover her other rapists and eliminate them all. Sela's scheme doesn't go has planned when she's ignored by JT, but she catches the eyes of his sexy business partner and friend Beckett North. What a strong alpha male, mastering the art of dirty talking with perfection! They share a night together, where Sela finally discovers real passion. Their chemistry is off the charts and a night isn't enough for Beck. It lead them to enter a sugar daddy relationship together for a month.
Their relationship evolves to a more meaningful one during their month agreement, and Beck is really perfect. I like the story being told in both Sela and Beckett's POVs. Being able to see what is in Beck mind proves that he is not the stereotypical superficial rich guy driven by greed and sex.
"A rare, genuine, full smile from Sela with nothing else hidden underneath. It captivates me and everything else in this room melts away. Our eyes lock and hold. I feel an almost electric current pop between us, as if I've just had an epiphany of some sort."
Beck is a very different and better man than his old friend JT. He's confident and has an imposing presence, but he's also considerate for the people important to him. He also has his flaws that could destroy what he's building with Sela. He's too trusting!
Beck's feelings for Sela look genuine, but certain reactions from her lead him to sense there's something she's hiding. There seems to have a mystery surrounding Beck's involvement with JT, other than their friendship, that's hinted a couple times. I can't wait to discover it; had me intrigued all along my read.
I loved watching Sela slowly transforms and open up to Beck, both physically and emotionally. She struggles with her growing feelings for him, and what it means with her vindictive plan. It's a big secret she's keeping from him. Can she really lives with that while being with him? Sawyer Bennett did a superb job to show Sela's dilemma concerning her expanding feelings for Beck versus her revenge.
"I, Sela Halstead, am not broken as I thought I was. while I thought Jonathon Townsend took everything from me, I've realized just now that he took nothing. He only wrapped my perception."
Being the first book in a trilogy, it ended on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to read the continuation of Sela and Beck's story. They were both great characters that grew and discovered about themselves, and I absolutely adore their interactions. In tender or hot moments, they're a fabulous couple. I was left with many unanswered questions after I finished and I'm waiting impatiently for book number two to discover them. Definitely a novel to read!!
