The Hades Hangmen Series has been on my radar for years. I remember when It Ain’t Me, Babe released, I wanted so badly to read it, but I guess it got lost in my never-ending TBR list. It’s a shame I just read this novel now, because as a fan of dark romance I was missing out so much. If I’m not mistaken, this is my first MC romance read and what an introduction to the genre! Tillie Cole not only forged a world of violence and corruption with the Hades Hangmen MC, but blended it with naivete and gentleness with Mae's character!

There’s just something so beautiful about Styx and Mae. They met when they were children, both trying to escape something troubling them and creating a transcendent connection. Years later, when they meet again this pull is still so intoxicating!

I enjoyed the fact Styx is this big, scary, commanding guy, but still has a vulnerable side with his stuttering problem. It makes him even more endearing! His need to protect Mae at whatever the cost is just so amazing. He never truly forgot the girl with the wolf eyes. When Mae escapes from her commune where she spent all her life secluded, she stumbles upon the MC and discovers a whole new world. While she suffered despicable acts growing up under Prophet David's manipulation, she’s still innocent and unaware of the cruelty of the world. Styx teaches her a lot about life and being free! They're two opposites, but find something special in each other, creating an unbreakable bond. Their relationship evolves in the most stunning way! Their emotional connection is so strong and their physical attraction brings a lot of hot moments!

It was so interesting meeting the different members of the Hades Hangmen. They are all so fascinating and it makes me really excited for the next books. The intrigue of this story has them on a revenge path that brings a lot of action that kept me riveted to every words. These guys truly have each other’s back!

It Ain’t Me, Babe is a book I regret not reading before today. It’s just so good with the perfect dosage between dark and light, sweet and sexy, emotional and violent! The narrators of the audiobook did a tremendous job giving life to the protagonists! It was a truly memorable experience! Tillie Cole is such a great writer that captivates with the level of feels she puts behind her words. I only have great things to say about this story!!! Now, I can’t wait to dive into Heart Recaptured and discover more about Ky!
