"Girls like you aren't exactly welcomed at a place like this, so keep your head down and look the other way."

Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for "troubled teens".

I didn't listen, and now I'm on their radar.

They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they've deemed me fit.

Too bad for them, I don't follow rules.

Too bad for me, they're determined to make sure I do.

Inconceivably attractive and treated like kings...these are the boys of Brayshaw High.

And I'm the girl who got in their way.

⭐️ 4.5 "Rebel" Stars ⭐️

I was awaiting the release of Boys of Brayshaw High with a definite eagerness after all the teasers I saw on social medias in the past few weeks! The Brayshaw Series started strongly and I’m not disappointed in the least. This story is set in high school with a lot of drama, mystery, humour, exciting characters and high sexual tension!!!

"You boys are ballers and you've set your game plan. But know something, packman... I may have a vagina, but I'm no pussy."

Raven “Rae” Carver is sent to live in Brayshaw after her last rebellious act. This girl has an attitude and it’s one of the things I appreciated the most about her. She’s an impulsive rebel and it sometimes leads her in some predicaments. I felt it refreshing to see a girl take command like that. Under all her bravado, I still felt loneliness and distrust oozing from her. She pretends to not be affected by all the teasing she suffers from her new classmates, but under it all she’s hurting. She catches the eyes of the three leaders of Brayshaw High when she confronts them instead of bowing to their authority.

Maddoc, Royce and Captain are something special! Each one of the boys has his particular appeal that I cherished. Maddoc aka big man is the ruler of the three, imposing with a charismatic presence. Royce is the buffoon of the triad, always cracking a joke or innuendos that made me smile or laugh every single time. Captain or packman is the reliable one; the voice of reason. Together they truly form an attractive group that commands everyone’s attention at Brayshaw High. They easily take an interest in Rae’s daring temperament and I loved their relationship. While it’s clear there’s trust issues on both parts, they learn more about each other and build a friendship that made me swoon!!!

The slow burn of Rae’s romantic relationship with Maddoc was torture on me! Literally! The powerful sexuality transpiring into their every interaction was a huge turn on. I just wanted them to finally get physical and unleashed these feelings. Let’s just say that when it finally happens, it’s so hot and worth it!

"I fight to defend who I am and what I'm not. To show I'm stronger than they believe. I may come from a weak woman, but I will never be one."

The pace of the story was too slow by moments for my linking, putting the intrigue on a halt and it’s mostly the reason I didn’t rate it five stars. However, I loved Boys of Brayshaw High and the potential of the series. I expect great things for the future books that will surely be as enticing as this one. With the way the book ended, I just can’t wait to get my hands on the next novel!

“You’re Raven Carver, aren’t you?”

I face forward with a frown.

“Sorry, but Maybell told me you were coming today. I didn’t think you’d be at school already, but usually the only new kids who come are people from the home.”

“Yeah, well, I wasn’t exactly given an option so, here I am.”

“Are you gonna run?”

I laugh lightly, shifting my eyes to hers. “Nah. I’ve got nowhere to be. Now I’m stuck in the system ‘til I’m eighteen anyway, so fuck it. May as well cruise through.”

“Those guys back there, you need to be careful. They’re… not like most high schoolers. People around here listen to them, follow their every move.”

So those are the guys the chick was referring to this morning.

“What you did today? They won’t allow that without getting you back. They can’t.” She shakes her head.

“I keyed his Denali.” I shrug. “Big fucking deal.”

The girl stops, her eyes widening. “Yeah, you got that part right. It is a ‘big fucking deal.’ If they let some nobody, new girl like you – no offense – openly disrespect them like that, it’ll threaten their entire system.”

“System.”

“Yeah. System. They’re a big deal around here, and not just at the school. You either kneel at their feet or get stomped under them. They’ll make sure you’re shamed, one way or another.”

We make our way up the dirt driveway. “He disrespected me first. If there’s one thing I know about guys, it’s if you let them walk all over you, they’ll take pleasure in doing it.”

The girl steps ahead, pulling open the screen door as she looks back at me. “If there’s one thing I know about the boys of Brayshaw, it’s that they’ll destroy anything that threatens to mess up their vision. Watch out, Raven. Your little stunt today may have gotten the guys you’re used to off your back, but for these guys? All you did was paint the mark brighter.”

I raise a black brow and she scowls at me.

“A target from them means a target from all their followers,” she spits.

Right. “Let me guess… you’re a follower?”

This time it’s her who pops an eyebrow. “Welcome to Brayshaw High.”

Meagan is a cookie dough crazed, jukebox junkie who tends to speak in lyrics. Born and raised in California, she is a married mother of three crazy boys who keep her bouncing from one sports field to another, depending on the season, and she wouldn't have it any other way.
