Young. Wealthy. Elite. Attractive. The gentlemen’s secret society at Yale was filled with them. And Nathaniel Radcliffe, the bane of my existence, was one of them. As the right hand of the American Gods, he was conceited and arrogant. A dangerously handsome man in a tailored custom suit and shiny black oxford loafers. The classroom was our battlefield. We made a sport out of arguing and debating, ready to do anything in order to win over the other. Deadly opponents, deadlier minds. I'd sworn I'd never give him the upper hand, until... The secret I’ve been hiding for the last three years? He just discovered it… and now he has all the power.
⭐️ 4 "Divine" Stars ⭐️
I’d been hearing about R. Scarlett for quite some time now and all the raving about those Americans Gods had me so intrigued, that I dived straight into Filthy Gods. I’m not a fan of novellas in general, but I really enjoyed this story!
"You are not conquering me, Nathaniel. This is the twenty-first century, and I'm no damsel in need of conquering."
I discovered through the chapters of this book a beautiful prose and interesting characters. Nathaniel Radcliffe had me completely under his charm. Seriously that man is dreamy! He’s charismatic and impressive, but with Juliette he’s something more! I swooned hard over his protectiveness and affection toward her!
"His words, his words alone had the power to ignite me."
Having grown up in foster care, Juliette has the total opposite past from Nathaniel’s privileged life. Their numerous heated debates at Yale has her hating him! In spite of her aversion to Nathaniel, she’s attracted to him like it’s not possible. Juliette is working for the summer as a maid at his mother’s elite club. It’s the perfect opportunity for them to lose this underlying sexual tension once and for all by sneaking out for steamy hot passionate moments during their summer break!
"The only thing I was afraid of was my own mortality in front of him. Gods fell in love with mortals and demolished them piece-by-piece."
The story evolves into arousing shared instants that slowly turns into more! The lines get blurred and both characters need to re-evaluate their initial intentions.
R. Scarlett surely debuted greatly this new American Gods series with this splendid novella. I loved Juliette and Nathaniel’s story and from the short glimpses at the three American Gods, Gabe, James and Arsen, I’m more than excited to dive into their stories!

R. SCARLETT
R. Scarlett lives in a small quaint town in Southern Ontario, Canada and has an unhealthy obsession with mythology and romance.
From studying English literature and minoring in History, she loves losing herself in a good book and snuggling up to her Brittany Spaniel.
When she's not writing or plotting a delicious novel, she can be found hanging out with friends and family, going on long car rides, exploring small towns, or watching reruns of Sex and the City.
