On Her Guard is a sexy, short and fast paced romance with enough suspense to keep you entertained from start to finish. I enjoyed all my previous reads by Skyla Madi and this one was another winner.

Sera is a young woman who just wants to experience life. Being the daughter of a mafia boss makes it impossible for her with her father keeping her at home or protected by a guard in her shadow. She meets the hot and older Ben on a torrid night where she manages to slip away from her security guard, only to meet him again a few days later as her new protector.
I enjoyed the forbidden aspect of this story. These are in my favorite kind of reads. Ben and Sera have chemistry and trying to deny it is really diverting. They get steamy together and those scenes are HOT. But I also liked the action-packed parts of this book. Ben being a military vet is bound to bring some thrill and I wasn’t deceived in the least on that facet.

Overall, On Her Guard was short but surely very good. It has everything I enjoy in a romantic suspense. If you want a short read that will get your adrenaline pumping, this is the book for you!
