After the way Bad Things ended, I just couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen with Ana and Cole. Battle Scars certainly didn’t disappoint me! I had my answers and so much more! Once again with this lovely couple, the romance is sweet and effortless. I liked seeing Ana and Cole build something significant between them. One thing is clear, it’s their feelings for each other. However, to be able to embrace them wholly, they must learn to trust each other and Battle Scars is a lot about this facet of their relationship. With their scars from the past, they still have a lot to overcome to bring this relationship to its highest potential. Long lived fears don’t make it easy to surrender completely, but they learn together. With Ana’s ex dark presence in the background, it brings tension and nervousness into their lives making their growing love delicate. As it was the case with the first book, this one features a few scenes with Lexi and Luke too. I always appreciate seeing the interactions between the Winchester brothers. Battles Scars completes the Love Is Messy Duet in a gorgeous way! These characters with their sweet charisma and endearing personalities diverted me in the loveliest way! Emily Goodwin totally captured the perfect essence of romance!
