Blog Tour + Review + Giveaway: This Isn't Fair, Baby (War & Peace #6) by K. Webster
TITLE: This Isn't Fair, Baby
SERIES: War & Peace #6 AUTHOR: K. Webster GENRES: Dark Romance
RELEASE DATE: April 18th, 2017
***This is the sixth book in the series. First five books must be read in order to fully understand this story line.*** The king in my world fell and a new one slid into place. He wasn’t just. He wasn’t FAIR. He was cruel and hateful and twisted. But I had this black king figured out. Or so I thought. The game became complicated because my black king had some new moves and one of those involved my heart. Hope trickled in for the briefest of moments. That is, until my black king and my heart sided against me. Those two didn’t play FAIR. They used me as their pawn in a bigger game—a game I didn’t know how to play. The laws changed. I didn’t play by their rules anymore, for the queen makes up her own. I am not a pawn. I am not theirs to use and abuse. I belong to nobody. There are new players on the board and they don’t play FAIR either. But the white king does know how to treat his queen. And together, they will make them pay. All’s FAIR in love and war, right? Definitely not this time. ***Warning*** This Isn’t Fair, Baby is a dark romance. Extreme sexual themes and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for you.
K. Webster achieved to amaze me once again with This Isn’t Fair Baby. I’ve loved all these interconnected and complex characters from the War & Peace series from the start and Vee might now be my new favorite female lead.
I wasn’t anticipating to love Vee as much as I did, because in previous books we didn’t get to see her enough to forge an impression on her, other than she was Brie’s sweet best friend. This book being her turn to finally shine demonstrates in my opinion the fiercest and strongest heroine of them all. What she endures at the hands of Esteban is awful, but she achieves to bounce back on her feet for a sadistic vengeance with an unforeseen help. I can’t tell you about the hero of this story, because I don’t want to reveal a punch, but my god I loved him so much! A real dirty talker, sexy badass! My absolute favorite of the series too!!
This story is filled with manipulation, schemes and some actions that occurred were shocking. As it’s the norm with K. Webster, This Isn’t Fair, Baby is full of filthy passionate moments along with grittier and harder ones too. The violence and obscene acts are sometimes disturbing, but this book completely captivated me by all the varying feelings it brought out of me. Between sadness, fury, happiness there wasn’t a dull moment in this amazing novel that consumed me completely.
