The continuation of Elder and Pimlico’s story amazed me. In Dollars, Pepper Winters once again grabbed me attention and touched my heart with her splendid writing. She achieved to make me feel the tumult inside both these complex characters.
Elder has now Pimlico as his possession, but he’s very tormented by his conflicting feelings towards her. There’s a rage inside him between right and wrong and to be able to feel his struggle throughout the book was exquisite. Thoughts from his past are scattered in the pages, revealing a little bit more about him. He’s not the only one trying to find his true self and combats his demons. Pimlico is trying to find herself again without the mentality of being a slave, while still harboring doubts about her new captor.
I loved the final few chapters of the book where they come to a stormy clash of feels. It was absolutely sublime, all those raw emotions going through them and translating to the reader! Every second of this book was captivating. This story was everything I wanted and more. I’m now more than ever anxious for Hundreds.
